The pits I've met have been the sweetest dogs I ever saw.  The first one 
belonged to my avian vet.  I was in a bird shop and the dog came in..of 
course I was a little apprehensive since it was off lead..it came right over 
to me..Heavnly horrors and sat on my lap..and gave me the biggest grin.  Two 
males I know belonged to a neighbor and they never even fought among 
themselves..when I had to babysit I was a quite queasy about walking in a 
yard with two pits....I went in and one came running up..OH LORD..I imagined 
them finding my bones in the yard when they came back...he had a ball he 
wanted me to play with him.
 
The people (?) in back of me thought it was neat to make their rottie mean by 
feeding it baby kittens but are all rotties killers..don't think so.  I have 
a dingbat mixed breed that will bite strangers at a moments notice...I think 
he was badly abused as a pup..
 
People just can't get it thru their heads that it's usually the OWNERS that 
make the dog vicious.
