TL>> RULEText Rules for area the_tag_name
TL>> RULEText more of the rule text,
TL>> each line starts with keyword RULEText

TL>> NOTE: The ECHOMOD application produces the MOD RUL

ml>> shouldn't this be fixed to reflect reality? RULEText is /not/
ml>> necessary to be at the beginning of each line...

 TL> I'll look into that...thanks

thank you! it is one of those areas of contention that had me confused on
how to format rules files for submission in a message...

ml>> i also have a question about submitting rules files in this
ml>> manner... how are we to tell the name of the rules file? i've
ml>> noticed a dramatic change to the name of some of the rules files i
ml>> send... it seems that the robot is wanting to name the file the

TL> Poor stupid Robot...I guess it assumes too many things since
TL> it lives in an 8.3 DOS world.

i was thinking that it was still a DOS app and thus limited in this manner...

ml>> it also cuts the names off in the postings when they are
ml>> longer than the 8.3 field...

 TL> Yes, it's a DOS based program.

TL> Some moderators, realizing the limitations, modify how they
 TL> name files (g).

too bad we don't have a way of telling the 'bot what the name of the file
is to be when it extracts the rules text from the message body... maybe
something like

RFName: PAS_LESS.RUL

for the PASCAL_LESSONS echo rules file...
