Hi!
CT>The fact that what parts of pornography I might find to
CT>be unhealthy is of a personal nature, I don't see any reason
CT>why I'm being pressured for an answer other than to satisfy
CT>someone's curiosity or just for the sake of arguing.
ET> In most cases, I wouldn't sympathize with people challenging yo
ET> on this... But it's just those "personal viewpoints" that make
ET> some people support laws to restrict other people's freedoms.
CT>It is still a conservative opinion which should be allowed
CT>to be expressed in an open forum without being attacked
CT>and so should professional point of views.
ET> *shrug* I've always been of the opinion that if you're
ET> unwilling to hear someone criticize what you say, don't say it.
Well, it wasn't meant to be a major controversy when I made
a passing remark that most people would agree with anyway.
Obviously, some here didn't agree, which I found to be unusual,
as do almost all of my associates. And there isn't anything
wrong with criticizing what someone says within reason but,
if the issue isn't that far out of line to begin with,
why hassle and bash someone to death about it.
ET> But I *don't* in any way mean to be uncivil, so I'll cease the
ET> debate.
No one said that you were uncivil and I believe I've
met criticism in good spirit. I bear no grudge
against anyone as they are entitled to their opinion
as much as I am entitled to mine. It's up to them
if they reject my opinion and/or the professional views
of experts.
CT>If you want to cry about some child pornographer not being
CT>able to publish what he wishes, that's your problem but
ET> And if you want to make a straw-man to attack, you're welcome,
ET> too. :) I never defended child pornography, since the very
ET> creation of which involves committing a crime.
Okay, but freedom of the press does not mean infringing
on the freedom of others which is all that I wanted to
say about it from the start.
ET> But, as you have said you wish, we can drop this.
Well, it's about time anyway since it's been dragging on for
a month or more. It's boring.
And now, for something completely different. :-)
Are you planning to go see the Godzilla movie
opening tomorrow? I'm going to wait and see
about this one. Who knows, it might be more
entertaining than Deep Impact. cya!
