    Hi Christi!

CW> Go to your local copy shop and they should have empty ream boxes. they
CW> are sturdy and pack a bunch. Butterfly shaw dancer turned out fairly
CW> well she would have been prettier if I could have found the suede to
CW> match the four hundred colors from DMC. so I stitched in the fringe.
Couldn't fins any suede the color you wanted huh! THat is terrible.
I have only seen three colors of suede so I supose it is pretty
limited. What color would you have used if you would have done it
in suede? I wonder if you could have taken doe suede fabric and cut
it in to very skinny strips if you could have stitched it with
that... ? Oh well it was just a thought and It is all ready done.

CW> but she still turned out. I put a rossette in the corner with a
CW> butterfly in the center all in beads. then on each side I placed some
CW> hand painted butterfly buttons. No I did not get her back yet . she
CW> will go straight from the framer to the contest. I will be getting her
CW> back March the 9,1997. I will know by the 7th if I have won anything.
CW> this is a tough contest there is only 150 entries and there are no
CW> repeats of stitch pieces. so say I enter earthdancer there would not
CW> be another one eligible to enter. Which I like that. because at
CW> Rockhomme they tell you that but when I entered Earthdancer two years
CW> ago there was three entered.
Well I know I will be glued to the echo on the 9th to see if you
posted a message about how you did. Wouldn't it be tougher if
there were even more pieces to choose from, or is it the more the
better the chance? Well I am excited for you and I know you must be
very proud to design your own piece. BTW was this contest just for
    first time designs or designer?
CW> I am interested in knowing if there is as much blending of threads in
CW> the storyteller as there was in the castle?
As a matter of fact there is tons of blending threads. There is a
total of 83 colors for the whole piece and just in the dragons fore
arm I think I counted 14 different colors to stitch a three inch
area. Most of that of course is two colors for one stitch. Anyway
it is beautiful and I can't wait to finish it. I have almost one
half of it done. Probably more like a third. I thought the castle
looked so much easier to do after working on this piece for awhile.
I wish I know how she tkaes and choose her threads to get the
desired affect of color. I think that is the creative part of her
    designs.

 CW>
CW> I shall let you go and do not wear yourself out packing. good luck.
I am not..... but I am getting discouraged.... My hubby leaves today
and I have have to stay behind for another three months. He gets
all the fun stuff. I really am going to miss him even though it is
only 100 miles. And three months is not a long time but it is if
things go bump in the night. I have my bedroom all packed except
for my clothes and bed. And I have my son's bedroom done except for
a little in the clost and his clothes and toys. I am cleaning out
his room because am going to use it for sotring all our boxes as we
pack them. I am hoping to get more done this week. I have so much
I have to go through and it is frustrating when you have to work and
clean and feed everyone. Oh well moving day will be hear soon....
