http://www.angryharry.com/index2.html Dear AH, You may not remember me, I took part in a radio discussion with you on BBC Radio Shropshire some time ago, but I will always remember you saying to me to get back in contact when I am "Angry" So here I am as you predicted. At that time I was very accommodating of those who say "come on men don't have it that bad" as I did not want to come across as sexist (I suppose I was yet to break completely my social conditioning) I now know that I am not sexist and that my views are justified and backed up with fact, and i have seen first hand the hostility that you receive if you express a differing opinion to the PC mandated version of the world. I work in the Voluntary Sector and on a daily basis hear about DV and female victims, so I started bringing up the issue of male victims in meetings, I have never felt so alone in a room full of people! Anyway as time has gone on, the more angry I have become, I have started to do something about it, starting today with my first step. I posted a message on the Equal Opportunities Commissions (EOC) website, where they ask for comments on there new "Bias" report into part-time work and how it discriminates. See below, its not much but its a start. "Can you not see that to have flexibility in your personal life you have to make a pay off in your working life, which will mean lower status and lower pay, we would all love to have our cake and eat it, but it does not work that way. This is not about discrimination, but about market forces. You will not gain the experience in part-time work that you will gain in full time work, you will not be able to put the hours in, that shows the employer that you are committed to the company in order to gain promotion, the type of employment that can be done on a part time basis will not have the responsibly and skill requirement of that, that needs full time employment. Why should I as a childless person be punished for other people life choices? Employers do not have a responsibility to ensure that you can manage your personal life that is your responsibility. The problem is that we are far to willing to pass on the responsibility for our personal decisions onto others and expect them to accommodate those choices. If when you start work you negotiate a full time contract and then ask them to change, there will be a re-negotiation of your contract, which will involve give and take, flexibility for you and reduced wages for the employer for the inconvenience. You look at things through the eyes of victims far too much and cry discrimination at every turn, as it's the easiest answer to find. I have looked at your research and it's based on self-testimony, we all think we get a bad deal at some point. But you never put your methodology in your press statements; you present your findings as fact! I believe that where there is true discrimination, things need to be done, but when there are just bad life choices that's all they are! I for one am sick of picking up the workloads of those that have decided to have children and then expect us all to bear the responsibility of their personal decision." I just wanted to say hi, and that I enjoy the site, I don't always agree with your views but what a boring world it would be if we always agreed. I hope you have time to reply and give me your views on the EOC. Kind Regards ST Dear ST "I will always remember you saying to me to get back in contact when I am "Angry" So here I am as you predicted." LOL! Well. I am glad to see that my most admirable performance on the radio brought you hotfoot to the angryharry website! But I am afraid to say that the EOC does not give two hoots for your opinion concerning their distorting of the truth; not to mention their downright lies. The people who run it know damn well what they are doing. And they will continue to pursue their agenda against men even if only to bolster their organisation and their career prospects. Do you really believe that if 'equality' was ever achieved (not that it will **ever** be achieved) that the staff at the EOC would simply give up their jobs and go home? No. They wouldn't. They would simply continue to manufacture bogus 'inequality' issues out of the ether and continue to pulverise men with them. For example, the EOC is currently trying to stir trouble over the fact that women choose to do part time work ... .... According to the EOC, part-time work "scarred" not just workers' income potential, but also their long-term promotion prospects, particularly women. [ http://business.scotsman.com/economy.cfm?id=169822005 ] .... The EOC said even staff who had switched from part to full-time positions were paid less than staff who had always worked full-time. In other words, because most part-timers are women, the EOC thinks that they should be able to switch to full time work and then earn the same pay as if they had acquired the same amount of experience as those who had been working full time all along. The EOC together with the government are also currently investigating the employment books of all large businesses to ensure that they are promoting 'enough women' in their various departments and they are also checking to see whether or not women are being allowed to congregate in the easier and, hence, less well-paid jobs. Those businesses that do not appear to be doing enough are to be investigated to ensure that they do, in fact, start 'doing enough', which, basically, means that they will have to undergo the equivalent of a huge ongoing tax investigation. This will terrify the executives of businesses for two reasons. 1. They will not want to incur the huge expense and disruption that such investigations inevitably bring about. 2. They will not want to be seen as being responsible for bringing the government Nazis into their businesses. The upshot is that they will discriminate against all the men in their workforce in order to ensure that their businesses do not incur any investigations in the first place. Fundamentally, the EOC together with the Labour government are saying to businesses, "Either you discriminate against men in favour of women, or we will cost you a fortune through harassment and aggravation, and those executives who are responsible for this will be known throughout the business world as those who brought the government on to their heads." Blackmail and bullying. Also this week, we have this ... .... Hundreds of female nurses, cleaners, clerks and porters in an NHS trust are due to share compensation worth £300 million after a ruling that they were paid less than male staff employed in jobs of similar value over many years. [ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml;sessionid=RP14YRO2JEAGTQFIQMGSNAGAVCBQWJVC?xml=/news/2005/02/14/nhs14.xml&sSheet=/news/2005/02/14/ixhome.html ] The union had asked for women's pay to be compared with that of NHS craftsmen, joiners, building labourers, maintenance assistants and craftsmen supervisors in the same region. All those posts were occupied by men. What you have to understand is that the EOC and the Labour government will always argue that any jobs wherein the majority of workers are women are underpaid. It will not matter what these jobs actually entail. If there are more women in these jobs, then it will be deemed that they are being underpaid. Period. (For example, see ... Are Women Not Even Responsible For Their Work Choices? [ http://www.angryharry.com/esAreWomennotResponsiblefortheirworkchoices.htm ] ) They will forever be stirring up hatred against men and creating huge bureaucratic nightmares simply in order to follow their bankrupt agenda and to keep their empires strong. And, worse, there will be no end to this. (e.g. see Equality Between Men and Women Is Not Achievable [ http://www.angryharry.com/esEqualityNotAchievable.htm ] ) Bodies such as the EOC and their associated departments in government need to be completely and utterly destroyed. They are a permanent blight - a huge one - on the well-being of the nation. They cause nothing but huge damage, huge expense, huge bureaucracy and huge unfairness. And they do it for their own self-serving purposes. The world is on the verge of some amazing and thoroughly revolutionary breakthroughs in science, medicine and technology. The benefits that these could bring to all of humanity are staring us in the face. We should be ploughing massive resources into these fields. Instead, however, we are pouring colossal sums of money into thousands of bureaucratic pen-pushers and wasting billions of hours pen-pushing and causing nothing but trouble to the whole of society in the process. Why? Because the government-funded bureaucrats have the power. It's as simple as that. And so, in summary, to answer your question concerning my opinion about the EOC, I see it as a collection of malign tumours that invade our society. It is a psychological cancer, an economic cancer, a social cancer, a bureaucratic cancer. Indeed, as is the case with nearly all feminist-supported organisations, It is a significant spreader of various societal diseases. And I think that you will find that most longtime men's activists in the UK have the same view, more or less. The discrimination against males starts almost right from their birth. The educational system is stacked against them as is the system pertaining to 'the family'. The law discriminates against them in just about every important area where it operates - both criminal and civil The health service provides far fewer resources for males than for females. And the likes of the EOC are forcing all medium and large employers to discriminate against men. There are now even moves to compensate women financially for taking off workdays when they have PMS! - i.e. when they allege to have PMS. Education. Family. Relationships. Law. Health. Employment. These are the most important areas of a person's entire life. And men are being heavily discriminated against and purposefully disadvantaged in every single one of them. Fundamentally, western governments are turning men into fourth-class citizens and forcing them to hand their earnings, their rights, their freedoms and their access to justice over to the gender that is supposedly 'equal' to them. And, in many cases, the phrase 'fourth-class citizens' is actually a massive understatement. Men are often treated as if they were subhumans who are simply not worthy of any consideration; e.g. see AH's What a Piece of sh*t is Man [ http://www.angryharry.com/esWhataPieceofShtisMan.htm ] And, quite frankly, at this current point in time, we do not have enough activists to change things quickly enough to avoid many of the horrors that are in store for us if we are not careful. As such, rather than spend too much time in writing long polite emails to people who have absolutely no interest in listening to or addressing your views (because they need to discriminate against men in order to survive) it would be far better for men's activists to PUBLICISE as much as possible the growing men's movement together with its complaints and ideas. What we need are more supporters and greater publicity. Thank you kindly for your email.
