BP > allow from 127.0.0.0/8
BP > my unix box is router so i have 192.168.1.0/24 aswell :)
Aha router well my DSL modem/router does routing for me so i don't worry
about that btw i'm running my own cybercafe so can't be playing atound with
machine settings all the time, i'm here now laying with ssh and all the BBS
stuff and dosemu doors thing and all that is on a cybercafe machibe which
people doesn't even notice
DG>> It extends for 69 more pages. what exacly should i look for?
BP > the reason i did tell about it was you have to learn new things from
BP > it :)
Ahh ok i see it though it's full of settings and the modules that are
currently loaded and some other Apache setups.
Thanks a lot it's really usefull stuff to look at.
BP >>> maybe just your dns missing a cname ?
BP >>> *.skynetbbs.org cname skynetbbs.org
BP >>> if you are unsure try
BP >>> dig www.skynetbbs.org
BP >>> is there a cname ?
yep www.skynetbbs.org CNAME xaero.skynetbbs.org
BP > how do you want apache to serve them ?
I don't get this :?
DG>> I know what the problem is bbs.rafastd.is still doing some weird

BP > goody, if you want some of us to connect to your mbse we need a
BP > staticly ip to find you, or atleast a staticly hostname :)
Well in fact you have like lazy eyes huh have you ever checked the nodelist
or at least my *Origin line? ;-) . mean i have two hostnames for that matter
bbs.skynetbbs.org (primary) and fidocol-.dyndns.org (backup). They're
automatically updated each time my IP changes with ddclient. so i always have
a reliable connection to either one.
BP > if this was not your plan you can run as client as you do now :)
Sorry?, i've always been serving since i first created the BBS i've always
done Telnet serving and BinkP always with dinamic IP but static hostnames
BP > do you make dns settings your self ?
Yep, have done it for some months i just wanned to have m own DNS for my
network and leaning purposes too and i run my own BIND as secundary DNS of my
onw skynetbbs.org domain which is handled also by me at zonedit. i like to
complicate my life many would say.
I've also set up a DHCP server and tried a LDAP server but never could so
just forgot about it.
I've also messed around with LTSP, NFS, Samba and some other stuff which i've
learned a lot from and that way i've made some bucks out of it. -:)
BP >>> is www.skynetbbs.org setup in your apache to point to the same
BP >>> dir as skynetbbs.org ? in apache this is done with serveralias
BP >>> token :)
BP > you have found it ?
Yes i checked out the settings
DG>>>> It's a silly page i guess.
BP >>> i don't say your page is silly, it kind of nice page imho
DG>> Really? ;) well it was inspired by my 15 yr old sis who said hey
DG>> do a family webpage. It started as a very poor B/W "Hola, Yo soy
DG>> David Gonzalez" a picture and that was all, and now relatives
DG>> from all arond the globe are sending pics so they get included
DG>> into the web page, pretty dorky huh?.
BP > yep :)
Well and i think you didn't get much of it being in soanish, but you can
translate it on-line.
DG>> PS: Delted bbs.rafastd.org from my DNS so now it's all ready
DG>> ready already :)
BP > okay dokey :)
So now you can hit both www. and skynet.... and get to the same location?.
Cool
What has been your experience with Linux?. though i don't ask that cos many
times my knowledge is so insignifficant to all of those linux geeks that know
it all and i see i'm just a litle sand grane on a big beach and that i don't
know anything.
