Hi Jeannelou
JT> I'm glad that you found a [kinda] close chapter of the SCA.
JT> They may be able to tell you of a still closer group. Believe me, we
JT> are scattered ALL OVER. In any case i suspect that you will find
JT> the doings worth the trip.
Well thanks for the input. I did find a group in the city we will
be moving too so I am anxious to get a hold of them and find out
what they are all about.
JT> There is a little booklet called 'Forward Into the Past. On the
JT> 3rd to the last page, you will find a list of some of the crafts
JT> presently being practiced in the SCA. When i joined, [if you exclude
JT> those directly connected with combat] i was already doing 2/3 of the
JT> items listed. I'm sure you will find yours too.
I was telling my son all about some of the things you and others
have said about the SCA and the crafts that they do. SO he is now
interested in joining a group too. He of course wants to learn how
to make swords...... I just want to learn more about history and the
handwork of the era. Take care!
