When was Jesus born?  On Christmas Day.  December 25, 5 B.C.
It's all in the gospel.  Matthew 1:1-25.  All one has to do is
read it.

Matthew cites 42 generations from Abraham to the birth of Jesus.
Three sets of 14 generations -

14 generations to King David
14 generations to the deportation to Babylon
14 generations to the birth of Jesus

The Julian Calendar began on January 1, 45 B.C., instituted
by Julius Caesar for use throughout the Roman Empire.  The
beginning of the 42nd year would have been January 1, 4 B.C.
Notice that is the 8th day after December 25.  The naming of
Jewish boys always took place on the 8th day after birth,
meaning Jesus was born on December 25, 5 B.C.
