FF>SB>I announced two weeks ago that it is spring; that the crocuses are
>SB>growing, the grass is getting green; and the forsythia and cherry
>SB>blossoms are about to bloom, and I will *not* sucumb to any of this
>SB>talk about snow and cold. It *is* spring, I tell you. (VBG)
FF>Here, the crocuses are over, the forsythia is on it's way out (mine
>is all gone, but down the road, there's still several in full glory).
We are about to enter the forsythia stage here. I mean in reality,
not just in my dreams. Soem of the earliest daffodils have bloomed now.
We brought a few buds inside and forced them in a vase, so we have
daffodils already. We are about two weeks from the whole riot of colors,
I think.
>A neighbor's Bradford Pears are littering their blossoms all over my
>yard, and a nearby Plum is also dropping it's blooms. Some of the early
>daffodills are done, some are at their peak, and later ones (and some
>tulips) are about to explode in a riot of color. My first iris and tulip
>bloomed today, another neighbor's crabapples are a-blaze, my redbuds
>are cloaking their limbs with a soft purple, and my dogwoods are just
>about to unfold their blossoms. The grass is a rich emerald green, has
>already been mowed once and needs it again, if the rain will just hold
>off for a few days to let the ground dry out enough.
Sounds lovely.
FF>I am also rather pleased to announce that, of the Sassafras saplings
>which were transfered to pots from the woods behind the house, three
>now have small green buds on the top, and are about to receive extra
Wonderful! I hope they make it!
