You're right, it isn't an "accident" in the true sense of the word.  Let me
put it this way then--sometimes people make mistakes.  Mistakes happen to
everyone sooner or later, no matter how careful you are.  You say you've
never lost a bird--lost as in flying away.  Have you ever had a bird die
because of a mistake you made?  Or get hurt?  Or even just have a close call
that resulted in nothing more than a scare for you?  If not, then I'm
impressed.
