I should use that in the next mystery. I'm working on it with no idea who
the killer is, how he or she did it, and how my heroine will escape the
basement. Maybe she could mix these two--could make it a garage where this
dude stores all his antique car parts--and then make the smoke go back up
into the attic (we had, in our last house, an attic entry in the garage
that didn't have a ladder, just a hole, but she could climb up it and put
smoke into the air vents of the house and smoke 'em out???) Have to think
about that. Is it toxic smoke? It can't be chlorine gas (made by mixing
Clorox and Windex, erk). If it's fairly non-toxic, she could use the
trick. If she escapes the handcuffs or whatever. She can be tied up in
the trunk of the car, you see, and she knows how to pop open the trunk
latch or get the back seat to fall inward (it can be an SUV) and then get
into the garage and try to open the door, try to put the car in neutral and
push it through the metal garage door, then hit upon the smoke
solution. Hmm. . . .
