We got this from our principal this morning:

Memo to ALL STAFF

War Talk
I am asking that unless talking about the war directly ties to
your curriculum that you not talk about it. As you know, we do
have students who have parents and relatives deployed. And out of
sensitivity for them, let's just allow them to step off the world
and have an area in their lives that has some semblance of
normalcy. If questions arise, state that you'd 'rather not talk
about that at this time.' We will have an additional counselor,
Sheila Weinsheimer from Greater Lakes, who will be able to aid
those students who are really struggling. She will be here on
Mondays and Wednesdays. She is here because of a grant and the
timing just
happened to be during this time. She will assist in other issues
as well. She will be formally introduced to staff at the April
staff meeting.

With Ft. Lewis and McChord AFB so close, and the Bremerton
shipyards just across the Sound, we've got a *lot* of affected
kids. And staff, for that matter; one of our paraeds has a son in
the Marines, who is apparently in Baghdad as of last night.
