An update has been passed along to me!
Get rid of ads permanently (at least in JUNO v1.38)
Change to \JUNO\LIB directory.
Copy JUNOTYPE.MAP to JUNOTYPE.OLD
(If you did this once, DON'T do it again!)
Using a TEXT editor, open JUNOTYPE.MAP
Change this line: "filetype aa AD_ARCHIVE server"
to: "filetype aa TEST server"
If you already deleted the line, then add the new line
back in between these:
filetype mb MAIL either
filetype aa TEST server <=-- add this line
filetype as AD_STATS client
(it probably doesn't make any difference what order the
lines are in)
Save file.
JUNO won't know where to put ad files, so they get deleted
with all the other temporary files.
JUNO should now delete all the *.AAX files as "test" files
rather then leaving any in the: \JUNO\USER####\GET directory.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
If you want to get rid of the ADS\00000000 & ADS\00000001
directories permanently, and not have the BMP's associated
with them on your screen, find the SYS.AAX file in the
JUNO\LIB directory, and either rename it, or move it to
a storage directory. Then delete those two directories.
JUNO will remake the ADS directory, and the ADS\LOGS
directory, and the addb.frm file.
I expect that JUNO will rectify this "fix" in a future release.
