Most definitely do this, but it won't be that easy.  Some message base
formats can't hold the century.  I think you're aware of the suggestions
being floated for dealing with this.

It was buggy already in 2.07, and I suspect that the feature explosion
which came with newer versions would have meant a rewrite.
