And, what the hell -- my current novel in progress (yes folks, I have decided that I will NOT abandon fiction writing): Anders' Contrition: The story of a young, award winning mathematics professor who gets into a fight with his wife, and his wife storms out and gets killed in a car accident. Anders had given up the seminary fifteen years earlier to marry her. An undergraduate student of his also lost her boyfriend some time back in similar circumstances, and the two form a platonic support bond. She graduates from undergraduate studies at U of W, and goes on to graduate studies at Cambridge. Anders, without knowing where Farrah is going, accepts an offer for a guest lectureship at Cambridge, in order to spend a year out of the USA to recover fully from his wife's death. Turns out -- by sheer coincidence and political maneuvering -- that Farrah Donahue is assigned to Anders Byrne as a graduate student he must chair in her dissertation research for his year there. Unfortunately, this decision comes one week after Anders and Farrah have decided to give a relationship a go, and Anders is caught in an ethical dilemma. Clark Kilkenny, a history major who slept one night with Farrah and wants more, discovers the unethical connection between Prof. Anders Byrne and Farrah, and reports it to the university. Anders and Farrah are dragged through the wringer by Cambridge, U of W, and the Bruckemann award committee that gave Anders his award (a fictional award given for the best dissertation of the last 7 years, given out only every 7 years). Will Anders and Farrah survive the wringer? -- Quinn Tyler Jackson --- Rachel's Little NET2FIDO Gate v 0.9.9.8 Alpha* Origin: Rachel's Experimental Echo Gate (1:135/907.17) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 135/907 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
