Carol, CS>True but work on it anyways. For me it's automatic. Weight goes up, pain go CS>up. Pain goes up, I stop eating. Self correcting, but then I've never been CS>truely overweight. High metabolism even after hitting the 40's where most CS>naturally gain. I'm a little heavier than I should be, but not enough to be CS>problem. I have one big meal a day...lunch. I rarely eat breakfast, and by the time I get back from errands, I'm doing my ham radio nets, and don't have time to cook dinner...because it's too close to bedtime when I get done with the ham radio nets. CS>5ft1, weighed Friday at 128. Spine Doc says I'd feel a little better at 120 CS>but not enough to make myself miserable over it since my natural setpoint is CS>126-130. I'm taller and heavier. I'm not diabetic, but have the potential to become Type 2. Earlier this year, my hemoglobin A1C was 6.1, lower than before. The level for type 2 diabetes is if the A1C is 7 or higher. CS>Have you asked for a referral for a dietician to work with you? It's actual CS>a good idea and your insurance should cover it. There are some foods you CS>should probably be eating more of that provide for some help and at the same CS>time, they may be able to come up with some new things to try and see if you CS>like that are lower in overall calories. The thing is, I only have Medicare. Shortly before my wife died nearly 11 years ago, they took away my SSI and Medicaid, saying that "$1500 a month between the two of us was too much money". Don't get me started on that crap...especially for the greedy politicians and CEO's who say that "$175,000 a year or more isn't enough for them to survive on". They don't have a clue!! Plus, Medicare will NOT pay for the dietician's consultation...just like they will NOT pay to have my toenails clipped each month. I can't squeeze the clippers, due to severe arthritis in my hands and throughout by body...not to mention I can't bend over to reach the doors, due to a severely strained groin muscle -- it's not a hernia, but might become one eventually. CS>Because Japanese Doctors are highly trained in Diet (unlike US Doctors) when CS>back first started getting bad, he was able to advise on several things to a CS>to my diet that would help. No, it wasn't endless bowls of Kale and rabbit CS>food. Now, while I *LOVE* salads...especially a grilled chicken salad done by Texas Roadhouse, I have to have the iceberg lettuce. The romaine lettuce is too chewy for me...especially with full dentures. But, the lettuce is loaded with fiber...and for me, constipation is not an issue. They have found polyps in my colon 3 times, but no colon cancer (the second greatest killer behind heart disease and breast cancer, but also one of the most preventable). My next colonoscopy is just under a year away. Over the years, I lost an uncle to colon cancer...my Dad and his sister to pancreatic cancer...and my grandmother to lung cancer. I don't think a single family has been immune from that scourge. CS>Then put a collendar in a big pot and dump it in and remove the collendar wi CS>the bones and any stray meat to toss out (the meat will be cooked to death b CS>then and have no flavor, possibly tough too). What you've done is make CS>something very like 'Osteo-BiFlex' (GSM) where the only cost is about CS>25-50cents to run the crockpot because the chicken bones were something you CS>were going to toss anyways. The problem is that due to the arthritis, I have a very difficult time standing in one place for more than a minute...whether in front of the sink, the toilet, or in the shower...never mind I have a propensity to fall in the shower. I rarely use the stove, and basically, if the meal can't be cooked in the microwave oven, I don't buy it. Now, I try to square dance a few times a month (3 hours of square dancing is equivalent to 6 miles of walking). I don't get long winded, so my heart is good, but I do perspire, to keep from getting overheated. Yet, when you go out afterwards, and order a banana hot fudge royale (Continued to next message) === þ OLX 1.53 þ Algebra: What the Little Mermaid wears --- SBBSecho 3.02-Win32* Origin: The Thunderbolt BBS - wx1der.dyndns.org (1:19/33) SEEN-BY: 15/0 34/999 90/1 116/18 120/302 123/140 130/20 140/1 218/700 220/60 SEEN-BY: 222/2 230/150 240/1120 250/1 261/38 100 1466 266/404 267/155 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 282/1031 1056 291/1 292/908 320/119 219 340/400 393/68 396/45 633/267 SEEN-BY: 633/280 640/384 712/620 848 770/1 801/161 189 2320/100 105 3634/12 SEEN-BY: 5020/1042 @PATH: 19/33 396/45 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
