I'm sure, there were some old guys really knew their onions
part of that ham club.  I think we inherited it from the
full capability station, the vfo for the tx got hidden away
and we got xtal control of course for novices, and possibly
a different tx, when the upper classes got the Collins
transceiver.

Yep, I operated the II, but have seen the 500.

YEp, recall that too.  I think the outfit I saw with the 500 had been rack
mounted.  I seem to recall its owner had done
some customization to make it rack mountable in its various
modules, etc.
