string2addr() was removed from fidoconf/src/common.c in November 2007:

So it looks like huskmisc has been broken since then.

I'm not sure it's as simple as re-adding that function back into the code,
because some other things have changed in the Fidoconf/Huskylib code since
then.

You could file a bug, I suppose...
