No, ALife is the "simulation" of living things by allowing them to self-
replicate, alter themselves and generally evolve. There've been
some pretty interesting things done in this vein, whereas one type
of "organism" will dominate for a while until a flaw is found, and
then it is outcompeted and the cycle begins. Some experiments
end up with multiple successful "lifeforms", some of which are
parasites to others. It's really quite cool.
