There are many signs the world over that at some time in the distant past,
much of the world was covered by water.

It used to amaze me to be walking on the desert in Arizona or Utah and come
across sea shells or fossilized imprints of sea horses in shell material.

And in bare cliff faces you can sometimes see what geologists say are `high
water marks' from long ago. Strange.
