Hmmmm....yes but the doves that we have around here are all wary enough
to fly if a dog gets near it. In fact the doves around here do much better
with the dogs than they do with the cats. We loose a few to the cats every
year, but the dogs rush in there, and the doves have a chance to fly up and
get away much easier than they can from a stalking cat.
Bright Blessings
Kat
p.s. If she is really worried why not bell the dog? Put a jingle bell on
their collars, and that way the dogs can't get near the birds without them
knowing they're there. Same way with cats. Our vet encourages the owners of
all outdoor cats to bell their cats so that their cats find it harder to hunt
birds. We have alot of endangered species around here, and our vet is one of
the volunteers who treats injured wildlife. Mostly birds. He says that he
gets quite a few cases of birds that have been mauled by cats. He even sells
the bells out front in the office.
