You're just trying to yank my chain.  Nellis just did it with the 
potter-suits, and I'm not going to do this again, oh no.  I shouldn't flush 
the buffer in public.

It's a matter of taste.  I don't like the "Gor" novels (though I prefer 
them to the Dragonlance series, for some inane reason).  You may not like 
Fitzgerald and the milieu he writes in, the Jazz Age and the shallowness of 
society.  (Just like now.)

However, if you really meant you'd tried to study the novel and found its 
structure wanting or non-obvious--and would like to know why most literary 
scholars consider its structure very good, and in fact it's in contention 
for the appellation "Great American Novel" among many people, including 
me--let me know.  I have some links I could point you to, or I could 
discourse on the topic.  If, as is more likely, you're not that interested 
in it (since, after all, it's best to study the type of fiction you're 
going to write, and the stuff that's being put out now, because that's more 
at what you want to produce . . . in general, as a rule), I'll shut up now.
