 It must be the version you are using.  I recently want from v3.05
 to 4.10.  I just now pressed alt+s and unchecked the show-seenbys
 box, but the seenbys are still there.  Is this a bug in 4.10?  It
 worked correctly in v3.05.

 Oh, I see you wrote "shownotes" rather than "show seenbys".  I'm
 going to have to learn the new version better.
