DH> Explain to me how the display of a Nativity scene on the lawn of city
DH> hall, as part of a larger display, makes Christianity public policy?
DH> How is allowing a Christian group to use school facilities(as they
DH> allow other groups), making Christianity a public policy? Both of these
DH> refer to actions of the ACLU, which have had the effect of limiting
DH> the expression of Christianity as compared to the rest of society.
DS> With a church on every corner, and very few with Nativity scenes,
DS> why would you want more space? Critics note that "charitable choice"
DS> is a disingenuous use of terms; there is little or no "choice" in the
DS> matter of taxation. Public funds -- used in what would otherwise be a
DS> secular, nonreligious program -- are not "privatized" in the real sense
DS> of the word. One is compelled, through taxation, to support these
DS> religious enterprises.
To coin a phrase, Bravo Sierra! A display which expresses part of the
traditional Christmas celebration does not establish a state religion!
As far as the rights of nonbelievers is concerned, what about my right
not to have the state expose me to the Crap which is Kwaanza?
