BL> Oh interesting. So your bank provided you with a program you run
BL> on your pc to process credit card authorizations and stuff?
No, they allowed us to use Visa to process payments - I have to phone in
authorizations.
I was, however, provided by the bank with a programme to process automatic
monthly payments. The clients sign an authorisation for us to take their
payments directly from their bank accounts. The bank porvided us with the
programme, a two hour training, two discs, a booklet of instructions, a list
of deadline dates for the next year, and the pouch to pick up and deliver the
monthly updates. ONce a month I drop the pouch off at the bank when I make a
deposit, and the next week I pick the pouch up again. Money is transfered
from the client's bank account to our bank account in the amount and on the
date agreed to. All I need to do is update the discs before dropping them
off, keep my records of the payments, and mail out the reciepts. Slick.
(And those clients are never late in paying!)
BL> Neat.
I love it. It's as easy as processing the Visa payments, and less expensive.
BL> Does it run under windows or ms-dos?
I have mine under dos - I imagine you could get it under windows, but I have
to use windows for so much stuff that if I get a chance to avoid the damned
mouse I do so. I jumped at the chance to get this in dos - it's quick, easy,
and doesn't use up so much memory (and I don't have to take my hands off the
keyboard to use the stupid mouse!) Most of the instructions are simply
arrowing down and pressing anyway - even if you hate typing you'd
find it easy.
