I'm not sure of that one either, & a quick search didn't locate it.

I agree there, but before Israel stands alone, it will place its trust
for peace & security in the world system with its world "messiah", as
in the reports that Israel is considering applying for membership
of the EU.

That probably played a role, but the apostasy was foretold, & it falls 
on all of us who turned away in our unbelief and sought escape or
solution in (eg) atheism, humanism, the New Age, etc. We had religious
instruction when I went to school, taught by pastors etc, but I recall
that as 13 & 14 year olds, we gave the instructors a hard time, and
looked at it as a bit of a "bludge" compared to maths, physics etc.

Still, those instructors may have sown seeds that later became fruit.
