Euphoria Programming Language v1.4b
Public Domain Edition for DOS/Windows.
Simple, flexible, powerful and easy to
learn. 10-20x faster than Microsoft QBasic.
No 640K limit. Complete Reference Manual.
Over 14,000 lines of free source code,
including full-screen editor with color
syntax highlighting. Makes .EXE files.
Supports Windows 95 long filenames.

It's an interpreted language with simplified syntax, something along the
lines of BASIC. The programmer is hidden from all the low level stuff, and
it uses cute terms like calling a data type an "atom". Could be
good for teaching, though. (BTW, a 'compiled' EXE file is simply the 150k
interpreter with the source tacked onto the end)

This isn't an adventure language, could be handy for whipping up something
fast but the sample programs are fairly boring.

FREQ euphor14.zip, 358k from 3:635/728. It arrived here recently in the
PDNLANG file area.

Cheers.
