Hello Thom! 02 May 04 02:11, you wrote to mark lewis: ml>> how do you suggest that i perform the ml>> above via SMTP error codes?? TL> Did it need to say got to Hell? Did it need to label me a spammer? Some bayesian spam filters.. Spammix Popfile Spamassassin Along with what is being incorporated into some email clients such as The Bat, among others, can label innocent email as spam, simply on the merits of some characteristics the author put into the email, however inadvertent. Back when I used popfile as my only spam fighting tool, of the 10 or so email replies from your robot that I would get after doing the monthly update of my echoes, 2 or 3 would sometimes come in tagged as spam by popfile. I am not sure exactly why, since on a brief visual check of those messages they looked the same as those that didnt get tagged as spam.. However Thom, with every spam fighting tool, you will always have your false positives and your false negatives. Spam has progressed past the point where a simple filter in the email client will suffice. Setting up filters nowadays is like a dog chasing its tail. Otoh, with more and more spam being those damn worms, dont get so upset with people simply trying to protect themselves from both spam, worm infested or not. No spam prevention method is perfect, but dont expect people to only decide on the methods you approve of. == Ross ICQ: 5305939 | YAHOO: Kingoffido E-Mail: rcassell [at] mailblocks [dot] com Oxymoron = 33 years ago, John Kerry told Congress he was a war criminal, 33 years later, he calls himself a war hero. ...
