    Wayne,
         Just my opinion... I would recommend you get a
         modem with Flashrom, that way the chances of
         keeping it Current are a lot better...
         The new X2 sportster has flashrom and all the
         Supras have Flash rom.. I think USR has a
         bit of a lead on the 56K... but that will
         end when ITU makes the Standard...
         You are right the X2-K56flex hype is not
         that real. I cant get 28k8 speeds out of
         my present ISP even when I get 28k8
         connects. So I have NO HOPE of
         getting X2 speeds even if I get X2 connects.
           But the X2 upgrade on my users USRs
         have INPROVED their v-34 connects! 
         hmmmmmm ... probabaly better Romware.
