It seems this one wasn't doing what I wanted it to, and deleting the
import.log after it read it. So I got rid of this one and used:

semaphore scanthis /usr/fido/logs/import.log
semapohre idletime 60

Since I keep my Golded+ window open in my VM at all times, it auto-updates
every 60 seconds with new mail and deletes the import.log each time. So far
so good. 

With further testing, I may remove the idletime option and hope that when I
do an ALT-S it would do the same thing without the 760 second scan, but for
now I can live with it. :)
