NB> I'm also over in MEMORIES and in COOKING.... ;) And I'm sure I've

 NB> places... :)

Yep ... must be one of those places. Or I just keep seeing the name.

NB> Activity is a very good thing...

Full agrement there. I wonder how many, such as I just read
and node in agreement or disagreement, and never reply?

NB> But don't you have telnet available to you? Until this bbs came back
NB> up after a few years hiatus, I was mostly using either one in Rhode
NB> Island or one in Florida... as well as one in Virginia (now in
NB> Texas)... At one point I was even using one in Great Britain...

With all the dial-up BBSes gone, and when Internet came to this
area there were 30 plus ...I was alone until 2005 when I finally
pulled the plug. I have seen this so often with not only this
dial-up BBS systems but also Amateur Radio Packet BBSes...where
activity dropped to zero. I was for many years ...the only
user of a club packet bbs....the sysop told me the club and he
were dropping it, in favour of some other form which was Internet
but ....not the same, as I found out. Just in and out going
radio traffic to an internet address for this or that...which
from my view is boring.

I knew my old copy of Qmodem Pro95 had Telnet, so while
connected to the Internet, I connected to Doc's Place and been
there eversince reading along mostly.

PC> We are 86km or 50 plus miles north of the city of Toronto.

NB> Ah, ok. :) I know that Ontario is a rather large province, so didn't
NB> want to assume you were fairly close by... ;) As it is, we're
NB> practically neighbors... at least as the crow flies...

Well add 50miles or so to Toronto, then the width of Lake Ontario
and your distance to Rochester, and then the distance from there to
your place and you have the crow flying time.

They compare Ontario to ... placing England within our area 40times
with room to spare.

Anyhow ... gotta get going ..... too many things to do, and too
few hours in a day.

ttfn

Peter
