it could also be as simple as some high level manager mouthing off his
support for linux with no regard to what is or isn't a better solution for
their use.

If they were using it I wouldn't question this, but when I see them say one
thing and do another, then I want a convincing explanation before I trust
what they say.

I've tried to convince people to use products other than Exchange before,
it's a much tougher competitor than you might think. If someone is set on
the exchange feature set there is little else that will satisfy them. I'd
like to know what this guy was proposing.
