Hello Everybody,

Sister Lucia Marto, the Carmelite nun who had claimed to have seen
the Virgin Mary as a child in 1917, has died, at age 97. She was the
last visionary of three shepherd children, the other two being her
cousins Jacinta and Francisco.

Among the events predicted in 1917 were world wars, the re-emergence
of Christianity in Russia, and according to some church leaders, the
attempted assassination of John Paul II.

What the future holds is anybody's guess, being that Lucia never
claimed to have been given the interpretation of the visions, but
only the visions.  The third part of the secret of Fatima, which
Lucy wrote in 1944, was released by the Vatican in 2000.  However,
she did say recently that she felt the events of 9-11-2001 were the
beginning of the third part of the secret of Fatima, a much different
interpretation than what was given by John Paul II and other church
leaders.
