Ontario,Canada .... I think that is in Canada.    I like that idea
and I will sak my family in Hoosierland.

University players are different from others, in that they are getting
an education and using their hockey playing abilities to accomplish
this goal.   They realize that the life of a prime hockey player is
less then 40years.    Ideal players in primier leagues are between
18 and at 30 they are lucky to get a contract.  SO few play past 40.
 
Industrial hockey and International hockey aside from Pro Hockey
are tough.   Even the exihibition games, or as they say "friendly"
aren't and we do have our enforcers.    Frustration or not
pack mentality or not, they are there and the star player is protected
because sure thing, the goon of the other team is out to make him
useless.

Fights in games, and too frequent in hockey due to the speed of the
game brings the fans.   Not everyone is there for the fights.
In recent years , not to influence youth , the tv broadcasts have
stopped showing the fights...but I remember as a youth that these
were the game, or so I thought.

I changed in later years while playing, using the fight to help
my team.   Control emotion, and you control the game.   I can
not even count the number of frustrated players I have pounded
into the boards and frustrated them into going for a fight
and getting them into the penalty box for non-retailation.

Fighting is 5minutes which I tried to get them...but for the most
part they only got the 2 minute ones, and I can remember the
referee telling me I was coaxing them to a fight then chickening
out ....but then they saw my idea.

The Slap Shot films, were taken from actual players dead and
alive.    I used to laugh at them, and I can remember watching
that first film before a game, and it was used as a coaching
measure.

The CHIEFS were or are the Johnston JETS of a feeder to other
leagues and player development.

I hear there is  a second version but I haven't seen it.

I think with fighting, I have noted this takes place mostly
on the smaller ice surfaces.   Not too many arenas are 
NHL Official, and well it may be said of the Europeans that
they have very large rinks which make it a necessary ability
that players skate, and they have less fights, due to
their version which I had no problem adjusting to...just had to
watch those very large wings, and deep corners.
