I avoid some echos just for that reason and some newsgroups.  I did find a
delightful newsgroup on breadmaking just recently and in it's small little
set of posters, it's a lot of fun.  2 of them are blind so we all
collectively disbanded the 'shouldnt top post' there as their screen readers
make it hard to bottom post.  

One of them is getting the same breadmachine 2 of us have so we can tell her
just how many 'beeps' for each type of loaf she wants to make (grin).  We got
it down to just 2 buttons she needs (loaf size, auto is 1.5 lb, so 2 beeps
means 1 lb and 1 beep means 2 lb).  Then she skipps over to the select and if 
it's a medium white, she only needs start.  1 beep will be a dark crust
white.  I think it's 5 for whole wheat.  14 for pizza dough.  You get the
idea.

Not a stinker in the group!  It';s like being on fidonet in the better echos.
