What about incumbents who are of the caliber of Ronald Reagan?
That policy can still vote in an incompetent liberal (yeah, I
know I'm repeating myself by calling a liberal "incompetent"),
while ousting the best man for the job... Sure, you can clear
out SOME deadwood, but it still jeopardizes the GOOD people.
I try to carefully research all candidates as thoroughly as
possible... If they're all equally experienced/qualified for
the job, I'll then consider if they're incumbent -- and also
consider how well/poorly they served in the office... and I'll
also consider their leanings: moderate or conservative? If the
incumbent is a good conservative, I'll certainly vote for them
over a moderate neophyte...
