The orders claiming to impose morality on the population have been,
are, and always will be cruel, brutal and resulting in horrible
violence and more vicious still psychological destruction. This is not
a result of coincidence. This is a logical corollary of moral fascism.

The reason: Morality without caring, compassion, wisdom or tolerance
leads to cruelty; which, justified by false sense of righteousness,
grows into monstrous forms. And the logical result of cruelty -
especially when justified by false sense of righteousness - is
brutality, personal destruction and horrible abuses against people.

This has been seen, is seen, and will always be seen, in orders that
have such values and such agenda. The Shambat rule applies everywhere:
Wherever there is a social or political order that seeks to impose any
kind of morality on the population, it is accompanied by cruelty,
brutality and horror. It was true for Medieval Europe; it was true for
Communist and fascist countries; it was true for the Taliban; in Iran;
in India; and it is also true in parts of America that claim "family
values." It was seen most clearly in the viciousness that media and
many Americans directed at Clinton - the viciousness that threatened
to destroy American constitutional system and erode everything that the
greatest minds of the Western civilization have struggled for centuries
to attain.

Similarly, there can be no lasting peace or harmony between
totalitarian regimes. The reason, is that every totalitarian regime
seeks complete control; and they cannot tolerate any foreign
influences. That Stalin's pact with Hitler did not last, or Khrushev's
with Mao, were not isolated incidents. They were the logical result of
the character of the states involved. Totalitarian states can make
strategic alliances to defeat one or another enemy; but then they will
always turn on each other.

I say always, in both cases, because the forces involved are of the
character that logically leads to the aforementioned outcomes. There
is, however, a saving grace. That saving grace is will directed by
knowledge. Understanding the nature of something makes it possible to
do things deliberately to offset the negative effect - whether it be
through rigorously controlling the forces with an effort of will, or
bringing in some energy from other places, or through putting the minds
together and coming up with win-win solutions that stop the negative
manifestations while enhancing the positive results.

Of course, if people were to do such a thing, they will come face to
face with forces and beliefs that will in many respects challenge and
even erode their worldview and value structure. This is indeed for the
better; for what this means is that bad traditions and bad social
habits will be overcome with greater intelligence and lead people out
of the darkness of moral thuggery or totalitarianism and into the light
of wisdom, knowledge and meaningful freedom that is the birthright of
humanity.
