NB>> ... Rumors of the death of the BBS have been GREATLY Exaggerated

JP> This also applies to Steve's presence on FIDO.

True enough... although a yearly appearance IS pretty sparce and could
well lead to such rumors... ;0

JP> Thanks for bringing it up to my attention, I did check it now
JP> and then but not for a month or so. For some unknown reason, my
JP> connection to Juxta is quite a bit quicker than to Doc's Place.

Yes, I had noticed that once in a while you'd check in, but it was
getting further and further apart lately. Maybe juxta is quicker
because it is closer?

I'd still been calling regularly to enjoy the Today in History stuff...
and to check to see if anything might possibly have changed... ;) I'm
glad he's got the Fido going again though, since he's one of the few
places that I can really do BW packets in a BW door... There's a few
benefits to that from the QWK packets, one notable one being that the
subject line doesn't get truncated in a trueBlue...

JP> Still in Kamouraska for a week yet, the WX has been gorgeous
JP> lately. Wife strained her back so we did not go trouting at all.

I trust she is recovering well? Glad to hear that the weather finally
got nice for you. :)

JP> Hee ! I complained to Microsoft enough about the crunging of
JP> my three Athlons systems that they are supposed to send me a free
JP> Vista. I will know for sure when it gets to my mits.

Hope it comes thru for you. Nice when they make good. :)
