I find this interesting:

have repeatedly asked Novell to transfer the copyrights to SCO, requests
that Novell has rejected."

Not just that they knew they didn't have the copyright but the phrase
"over the last few months you have repeatedly asked Novell to transfer
the copyrights to SCO"

A) In consideration for what? N.B.  Transfer not sell B) Over the last few
months....not in 1995 or 96 or 2K but over the last few months. Maybe the
plan was to get the copyright (having been a linux distributor/contributor)
& then whine about IP & copyright infringement etc.
