you didn't know there were specs for QWK, QWKE, and BW?
QWK:
http://textfiles.com/programming/qwk.txt
https://web.archive.org/web/20080925223302/http://www.bsdg.org/SWAG/MAIL/0025.P
AS.html
QWKE:
ftp://vert.synchro.net/main/BBS/qwke.txt
BW:
http://help-site.com/local/BWSTRUCT.TXT
the bottom of http://multimail.sourceforge.net/ also has links for OMEN and
SOUP packets... in fact, it may be the better place to get these specs... as
for actual source code implementing them, i don't know... it is possible that
there is some out there but...
then there's the OPX offline mail format... not much support for it which i
think is due to its history... i haven't found a "spec" for it other than some
C code...

i'm surprised that BW wasn't added at the same time that QWK and QWKE were
added... especially since it is more modern and less restrictive than
QWK/QWKE...
