Phil,
This is one of those things I did so long ago, I hardly think
about it any more, but indeed, I found that replacing the
original key definitions in COMMO.MAC with the ones in VT102.MAC
gave me what I wanted all along. That is, although the original
definitions worked fine in the full screen editors I encountered on
the Opus and Maximus boards I usually called, they bombed out
when I used them on my Internet provider's system. Rather than
using a link script, and knowing that Opus and Max both say they
support VT100 emulation with their editors, I gave it a shot and
never looked back!
While I'm here, anybody know off the top of their heads the
differences in PINE.MAC and VT100.MAC? I do use the Pine editor
on my Internet provider's system, but frankly, I just haven't had
the need to use anything other than the VT100 key definitions as
I stated above. Of course, it isn't that I actually do that much
editing of my messages, being more of the let it fly and suffer
the consequences philosophy, but for sure, the arrow keys work
fine, so I'm curious about what keys I should expect
problems with if I ever decide to get fancy.
Thanks...
                                        Willie
