Kenny, you don't get to decide when women want to protect themselves
with  guns;  WOMEN do.  And, more and more women are both going to
college AND buying and using guns.

"A woman who lives on Russell Street told police a man entered her
house around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, and attempted to rape her. She said
she was able to break free from the intruder, and grab her gun.

"She defended herself with a handgun, shooting the gentleman once. He
was transported to Vanderbilt University (hospital) where he later died
from that injury," said detective Lee Freeman, with Metro police.

Police told NewsChannel 5 there were no signs of a forced entry.

No charges have been filed against the woman.

No names have been released. "
