They might have been looking at code to implement a linked list or some other common algorithm copied from a textbook example. Put it on a web page and let everyone see it if it is that convincing. I am siding with the view that if there is copied code, it probably originated in BSD or Linux and was copied by SCO into SCO's code. I can't think of any advantage the SCO code would have had over code already in place in the 2.2 version of the Linux kernel.
