| subject: | Vista sales not good.... |
From: Ad http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/02/21/gates_vista_ballmer/ The interesting part is at the end: "On boxed copy, early indications are Windows Vista is behind Windows XP. Sales of Windows Vista were 59 per cent down on Windows XP in the first week, NPD said" Now when one considers how many more PC'es there are in the world now vs when XP was launched those figures are even worse. Good enough is proving the undoing of MS just as it proved to be it's doing..."live by good enough, die by good enough". One wonders given Vista is so good (according to MS) i.e. so far above "good enough" where the sales of the next MS OS will come from. i.e. people simply want something which will work. Once something does "just work" then they do not feel compelled to buy a new & improved version esp given the time & effort factor of re-installing programs etc.etc. Adam --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
