free for the user, but not necessarily so for the sysop... there are
plenty of systems out there that have to pay ld charges at the very
least just to pick up packets from a reliable node... they in turn
distribute that cost to local systems that get the packets from them...
... i missed Bill Gates at COMDEX, but i'll get him next year...
