You've not said what results you're getting....

My own tests with iperf on the early Pi's LAN to LAN showed that it could
almost saturate a 100Mb connection, but remember the Pi's Ethernet is
on USB which is half duplex only, so if downloading from the Interwebs
and storing to a file on a USB drive will give fairly meaningless results.
