I must be missing the point of his problem. I run a backup of an XP
workstation, the backup software and tape drive are on the 2003 server. I
then trash the XP workstation and reinstall XP on it then do a restore from
the server and he's saying the block size of the tape stops that from
working? How? The server expects to see that tape block size.

What I suspect he's saying is he also has a tape drive in an XP box
somewhere and is trying to do the restore from that?
