The Windows server market =E2=80=93 the largest single segment by unit =
shipments worldwide =E2=80=93 grew nearly 10% in 1Q03 in terms of = factory
revenue, compared to 1Q02. All major server vendors except for = Sun ship
Windows servers, which accounted for $3.2 billion of the total = sever
systems market revenue during 1Q03. IDC data in recent quarters = shows
modest but steady growth in the Windows server segment, based on a = large
number of shipments each quarter.=20

The folks that should be worrying are Sun, the only major vendor not =
selling Windows servers, and the other UNIX vendors. Sun's server =
revenue is down 15.3% from last year. UNIX servers in total are down =
12.9% from last year. It's not clear from the web page whether UNIX =
includes linux. It doesn't matter much since the total linux server =
revenue is less than the decrease alone in UNIX revenue from last year.
