Well, I just finished reading a book called "How to Give Your Baby
Encyclopedic Intelligence" that has me extatic with anticipation! The
techniques it talks about are for children up to 6 years of age. After that,
the tiny child's ability to absorb information with no effort is virtually
over, and learning becomes a more concentrated effort (getting harder the
older
we get, it seems!). Anyone with kids under 6 years old should read this
ook!
If you don't like what it has to say, then you certainly are not bound to
follow it's reccomendations. But personally, I found myself feeling cheated
that I didn't have this information when my first was a baby, and am trying
o
make up for the last 3 years! And I am also working with our baby at the
ame
time. It's hard to summaraize an entire book in one post. I urge everyoen
with tiny kids (or who plans to have tiny kids!) to find a copy of this book
at
the library and read it the first chance you get! These children have an
enormous power of learning, if only we give them the opportunity, and can
eep
up with them!
