While it's perfectly fine to like BASIC, if you want to discuss it,

Ok, and perhaps more importantly, _topical_.

_I_ would certainly rather that sample code posted here be written in
C++.  Other OO languages based on C (e.g. Eiffel and Objective C) don't
bother me much either, especially since there are no other echos on Fido
where they're topical.  However, there IS at least one echo devoted to
Quick BASIC programming the last time I looked, so further discussion of
it should be moved there.
